Pictured above: my summer things
Dear Everyone,
Just a quick check in. The site is undergoing a bit of a makeup, (never a makeover! I don't believe in them, and neither should YOU) and in a little bit it'll be crisper, cleaner, and more and more like a refreshing Granny Smith Apple than it has ever been. On a side note, I've just realized that I instantly see an elderly woman with white hair and B. Franklin glasses when I bite into a Granny Smith Apple, and I'm not so sure how I feel about that, suddenly. Anyhow, look forward to that, and give me your feedback as it changes and grows and simplifies. The new look is all about no-frills, as I think every summer in the city should be if possible. See, I tie it all in.
In other news everyone, there are exciting things planned for the coming week here at The Guide. I'll be profiling Cole Escola, of VGL Boys fame (and recent addition to the LOGO television network lineup) as well as showcasing a wonderful restaurant and its chef, Vinegar Hill House. I'll also be sitting down to interview THE Peggy Guggenheim. Now I bet you're excited.
Before I go, I think I'll share with you a few things that are making my summer that much sweeter. Blackberry preserves by Bonne Maman, cartoons and witticisms by Jean-Philippe Delhomme, music by Alice Russell, and t-shirts by Peg Leg. Theme parties, too, of course, keep me motivated, energized, and constantly in awe by the creativity one musters up simply from living in the city. Tomorrow night: a New York School Artists party. Only in the city!
Best,
Jordan
